Why you need to listen out for a good putt!

When you strike a putt out of the sweet spot, you can hear the quality of the impact. If you tap a coin against different parts of the putter face, you’ll see what we mean. A pure strike is so important for helping judge distance and feel, as well as for being able to start the ball consistently on the correct line. When you strike the ball out the sweet spot, the putter face remains square, instead of twisting open or closed. Also, your brain judges distance and speed on the assumption that the ball is rolling end-over-end with a pure roll. If you frequently mis-hit putts, you’ll always struggle to judge distance.
